SHARING IS THE BEST PART

Read Matthew 5:14-16.
We are the light of the world. Share Jesus with those around you.

Read Matthew 9:35-38.
As Christians, we have a personal responsibility to witness to others. That witness is strengthened by personal testimony. To witness effectively we must understand the position of others - where they are coming from (verse 36) rather than where we want them to be. Surprisingly, most people are seeking God - the harvest is indeed plentiful.

Read Matthew 13:1-23.
This parable speaks of our acceptance of the Word - do we fail to understand; do we fail to retain its message; are we overcome by day-to-day problems; or do we understand the Word and share Jesus through witness to others?

Read Matthew 25:31-46 (key verse 40).
A message of love, compassion and kindness, also with a warning.

Read Matthew 28:18-20.
Jesus explains His authority from God (verse 18), then passes that authority to His followers. It is the most unambiguous instruction that Jesus left to us. It is not an option but a command and it is appropriate to the house next door or a country on the other side of the world. Our mission field is right where we are.

Read Luke 14:12-14.
The message of our cover story.

Read John 4:1-26 (key verse 15).
Rarely do we see the immediate effect of witness - it usually requires patience and persistence. A commitment to Christ is a life-changing experience and should be taken with careful thought and understanding lest the seed falls on stony ground.

Additional reading:

2 Kings 7:3-20 (key verse 9). An example of sharing. We have experienced the Good News of Jesus and we must share it with others.
Jonah 3:1-10. Our responsibility is to share the Good News and not to decide beforehand with whom and how they will respond. Jonah witnessed half-heartedly but it was still effective.
Acts 1:1-11. This account of Jesus' ascension stressed the power available by His Holy Spirit. The witness and sharing of his apostles gives us confidence in their written testimony.
