Shirley's youngest
son, Anthony has danced for many years and is still dancing. When he
first started competing in 1989, boys had to wear kilts, so Shirley turned
her hand to this form of Irish Dance costume. Shirley is glad that the
fashions have changed, as trousers are much easier to make!
Here are some
pictures of Anthony, who is now 18. Anthony started
following his older sister to dance classes when he was just 3 years old.

first Australian championships in 1990.
He was still a beginner, so
didn't place, but he definitely won the audience award!

This was Anthony's second year competing at the
Australian championships and he placed third.

Anthony won the Australian championships for the first
time in 1995 at 11 years of age...

...and for the second time in 1997 at 13 years of age.
