1. Missing postings?

The final posting for 1999 was CLM 983. We know that quite a number
of list members will not have received that and some preceding ones
sent on 31 December because of bounced messages. Messages were
returned from all addresses on some servers, which appeared to have
been closed down then, perhaps as a precautionary measure. There
was an encouraging response to some of those items, so if you would
like to catch them up, send a message to
with a subject of 'Re-send 31 Dec'.

2. Author of 'CLM 982 Three Trees'

We are grateful to Marion Haigh for advising:

The story was written by Helen Frazee-Bower and produced as a
flannel graph as well. Helen was a school teacher, speaker and
Bible teacher. Born in Califoria, she spent a happy childhood
wandering in the beautiful hills - a love that never left her - she
loved to walk amongst God's creation. Mother to five grown children
she wrote poetry which was published in many magazines as well as
her book 'Garment of Praise' and many children's stories.

In November 1955 she was hit by a car and paralyzed from the
shoulders down. Like the tree in the story she had her plans but
God had other ideas. Even though limited in physical activities her
writing has continued. (From the booklet God's Trees by Helen
Frazee-Bower, Scripture Press, Wheaton, Illinois.)

3. The Founder and Finance

In CLB-0-001, we affirmed that CLM is distributed at no cost to
subscribers. We also drew attention to the ongoing contribution
made to the list by Rowland Croucher, its founder and also Director
of John Mark Ministries, under whose general aegis the list
operates autonomously.

The Secretary of JMM, Philip Hughes, would like to share with all
who may be interested some financial aspects associated with
Rowland (who is currently on unpaid sabbatical leave) and JMM (a
'faith' ministry). If you would like to hear from Philip, please
send an e-amil to with a subject 'Finance', or
go to .

4. 'CLIP' by Zondervan

The free CHURCH LEADER INTERNET PORTAL (CLIP), located at
http://www.ZondervanChurchSource.com/CLIP, is described as a
comprehensive Internet computer start-up page with hundreds of
practical links and several features specifically designed for
anyone involved in church leadership.
