Touch Me not! (CLM 397)

In reference as to why Jesus commanded Mary not to touch Him, study
Leviticus 16 and compare Hebrews 9 & 10. The High Priest was to
enter into the most holy place to sprinkle the blood. The High
Priest was not to be defiled through uncleaness before he made the
sacrifice. Now we know from scripture that this was a picture of the
true tabernacle in heaven.

"The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of
all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet
standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which
were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that
did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;" (Hebrews
9:8,9).

"For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the
very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they
offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect."
(Hebrews 10:1).

Jesus Christ was the great High Priest that the sons of Aaron
pictured. He was on His way to heaven, but made a detour to
encourage His distraught disciples.

"Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he
entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us." (Hebrews 9:12).

Think of this, the most important ceremony in human history was
taking place and Jesus was concerned about His hurting followers!

It was alright for the disciples to touch Him after the visit to the
Father and the most Holy Place because the blood had been applied by
Jesus Himself.
