This is a bright, upbeat guitar driven rock song about how Christ is the Wisdom of God, and how that compares with worldly wisdom. It sounds a bit like Gangajang, who I blame for the sync delay on the second guitar.
So long ago
Two people longed to know,
Thought they knew better than God

They say like fools
There is no God who rules
Like them we need to come to understand

What we could never attain for ourselves
He has given freely
There are treasures of wisdom and knowledge and more
And in Christ we are able to see all the things once hidden
He is the wisdom of God

We think we’re smart,
But deep within our hearts,
God sees our selfish plans

We try, we fail,
Our worldliness prevails
We need a Saviour and we need a hand

What we could never attain for ourselves
He has given freely
There are treasures of wisdom and knowledge and more
And in Christ we are able to see all the things once hidden
He is the wisdom of God

Our guilt, erased,
Forgiven by His grace,
This is God’s holy plan

It seems so dumb,
It breaks our rule of thumb
But we’re the ones who need to understand

What we could never attain for ourselves
He has given freely
There are treasures of wisdom and knowledge and more
And in Christ we are able to see all the things once hidden
He is the wisdom of God
