This is one of my first congregational songs, written 15 years ago. Back then, the heavy sounding blues/rock approach
was a bit too radical for the mainstream church.
It was written by the "Bible Study" method, and originally inspired by a Redgum
song "The Long Run". That song boldly declares "It'll be alright in the long
run", but offers no reason for such hope. We have real hope as we know God is
in control, and working for our good (see Romans 8:28).
It's gonna be alright don't you worry
God has a perfect plan
He holds His children in His hand
Before the heavens were created
We were chosen for His own
He has prepared good works
For us to walk within them
Till He comes or calls us home
It's gonna be alright don't you worry
God has a perfect plan
He holds His children in His hand
All things in life that we go through
God is working for our good
His plan in everything
Is making us like Jesus
By His Spirit and His Word
It's gonna be alright don't you worry
God has a perfect plan
He holds His children in His hand
If in this life you should suffer
There's much glory up ahead
He says that He will keep
Your tears in a bottle
He's a God who really cares
It's gonna be alright don't you worry
God has a perfect plan
He holds His children in His hand
Nothing can ever separate us
From the mighty love of God
Since He is all for us
Then who can be against us
Even death has been undone
It's gonna be alright don't you worry
God has a perfect plan
He holds His children in His ...
He holds His children in His ...
He holds His children in His hand
