John wrote this powerful but gentle piano ballad for a sermon series on Malachi
at Lakeview. It was an instant hit. John tells me many people have been touched
by the line "like a refiner's fire, you purify our hearts". It is an
opportunity for intimate and heartfelt communication with our heavenly Father.
We worship You O God
Sing praise to you alone
No other Gods before You
And from the rising sun
Unto its going down
Will every place adore you
Your name is great among the nations
Your love was with us from the start
You gave us life that we might honour You
Like a refiners fire
You purify our hearts
Lord everything we own
Is Yours and Yours alone
We lay our lives before You
And Lord You do not change
You ways remain the same
Your grace is freely given
Behold the day will come
When evil doers fall
And burn away no more to be
Yet those who fear Your name
Will rise up like the sun
And live with You eternally
