Captured
Cultures
There are thousands of cultures that are
being held captive.
Who are the captured cultures?
Why are they in this situation?
Who is responsible?
What can be done about it?
Jesus said He came to set the captives
free! Yet so many cultures are still held captive to the powers of darkness
that have kept them from hearing about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
It is hard to believe in this day of advanced communication there are still
around 8,000 cultures who still don't have a culturally relevant church
in their midst.
Why Are They in This Situation?
The church in general is putting 95% of
all its resources into COMFORTABLE CULTURES. These comfortable
cultures are situated in places where the gospel has been preached before
and where there is already an existing church. Oswald J Smith said "why
should the gospel be heard twice when there are places where it hasn't
been heard once".
The Church is Responsible
The Church can only be responsible for
the neglect of these captured cultures. The mandate of Christ, to take
the gospel to every nation (culture) was given to the Church. The responsiblity
rest solely on the Church.
How Can These Captured Cultures be Set
Free?
We live in the most exciting time the world
has ever known. The ability of mankind to travel and
communicate is greater now than ever before. There are more Christians
alive now than any other time. The Church has more combined resources than
it has ever had in its history. All these factors lead to one conclussion.
The Church is in a better position to storm the gates of hell and set these
captives free than at any other point in time.
The answer is simple and the possibilities
are overwhelming.
-
A global effort of combined prayer
-
A global redeployment of Church resources
-
A global strategy to reach the captured cultures
-
A global unity of believers in order to maximise
resources
Jesus is coming again, but not until
every tribe, language, people and nation have had the opportunity to respond
to the saving grace of Christ. Will you be part of the special forces that
help liberate the captives?
