Christian Reformed Church is a member of the Christian
Reformed Churches of Australia
(formerly the Reformed Churches of Australia).
Reformed churches have their origins in the Protestant
Reformation of the 16th century. The purpose of the Reformation was
to return to the foundation of the Bible after centuries of corruption
in the church of that day. The key element of the Reformation can be
summed up in the phrase 'To God be the glory'. Reformed churches have
sought to maintain this commitment to Scripture, and to giving God the
glory He is due in all things. The Reformed Churches of Australia were formed in 1952 as a fellowship of just a few Reformed Churches around Australia. Men with courage and vision stepped forward to overcome enormous obstacles. Not only did they build a fellowship of churches, they established Christian Parent Controlled Schools across Australia, and even had the courage and vision to establish an association for a Christian University, which now operates the Reformed Theological College. Now a fellowship of some 45 churches and some ten thousand members the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia seek to serve God by faithfully teaching the message of reconciliation between God and man, by reaching out into the community with this message of grace, and by helping in the community to meet the needs of those in difficult circumstances.
