What Comes After Death?
The Bible says "you will not perish", but it also says elsewhere that we will perish and go back to dust. What’s going on?
Our body will perish, but our soul and spirit and new body will last forever. 1 Cor 15:51 tells us that death is swallowed up in victory. The Bible often says "sleep" referring to believers who have died. At judgement day we will get a new immortal body too.
Did decay start when Adam and Eve sinned?
The Bible says that when Adam and Eve sinned, God put a curse on the land, and now all creation is groaning. Some suggest that this may be the same as the scientific Second Law of Thermodynamics, which is based on the observation that everything in our universe is constantly tending to decay and run down and become disorganised.
Can we get "out of God" like we can get out of a car?
Normally no, as God desires us to mature and grow and stay in Him. However, it is possible to walk out of grace and walk under the law again, if we wilfully turn away from our Christian position. The Bible in Hebrews 6 says that it is not possible for those once Christians, who fall away, to be renewed. People who ask God to take over their lives, but later ignore and reject Him, lose salvation. There is a place where you cross over into darkness. Following God is serious business. Others suggest that those who lose salvation were not really with God in the first place.
