Objectives of Emmaus Ministries



The objectives of EMMAUS MINISTRIES INC. are:

  • to help men and families in crisis situations by showing them the love of God through Jesus Christ and the nature of His kingdom by providing Christian-based accommodation and rehabilitation programs;

  • to publicise the needs of men and families in crisis situations and to persuade governments and public authorities to provide improved resources to meet the needs of men and families in crisis situations;

  • to enter into agreements with public sector and non-governmental sector welfare agencies to provide accommodation and rehabilitation services;

  • to provide, maintain and equip shelters to accommodate men and families in crisis situations;

  • to provide practical and material assistance to men and families in crisis situations who are unemployed and to help those men to find employment;

  • to minister to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of men and families in crisis situations and to help them to find a meaningful relationship with God and with His son, the Lord Jesus Christ;

  • to help integrate men in crisis situations back into their families and into society after placement in suitable programs of accommodation and rehabilitation;

  • to liaise and to co-operate with the churches and the Body of Christ primarily in Canberra and the ACT to carry out any or all of the objects of EMMAUS MINISTRIES INC.;

  • to do all acts and things which are incidental to each of these objects and to implement the letter and the spirit of each of these objects.
