Hi Everyone!

Firstly, here are a few news items that just missed our last news letter:

  • Congratulations to Jennifer Phillips whose art work "Loved - Never Forgotten" won the Peoples Choice Award at the Art Views in the Hills exhibition. A photo can be seen at the following link: http://citwings.com/art_views_06.html She is also exhibiting 4 images which are available as limited edition Prints at the Strathnairn Annual Members Exhibition called: LANDMARKS 28 October to 12 November 2006, 90 Stockdill Drive, Holt (Canberra). Phone: 6254 2134
  • Wendy Manzo is holding an art exhibition and sale of her original paintings called "Child's Play" as a fundraiser for the Children's Centre for Christmas.Saturday, November 25, 3.00 pm, 35 Terrace Rd, Killara (Sydney). For more info email Wendy: wendymcq@mac.com

Secondly, this weekend you're all invited to meet up in the Botanic Gardens (Sydney) for an afternoon of meeting/ catching up with each other and making some artwork in the sunshine (hopefully!!). The forecast is a bit shakey so we've got a contingency plan.

If it's sunny - we're meeting in the Botanic Gardens at the Choragic monument (see no.18 on the attached map of the gardens and the attached picture of the monument) at about 11am. Pack yourself a picnic lunch or feel free to share food around - and bring a picnic rug if you have one. We'll be sketching/painting/everything-else so bring along your art materials.

If it's wet - we'll meet at the Art Gallery of New South Wales (no.5 on the map) at 11am in the cafe on Lower Level 1 for coffee/food and then take a look around the Gallery together. The blockbuster exhibition they're pushing at the moment is one about representations of a hindu godess - which I'm not keen on seeing - but there's plenty of others on including the Dobell Prize for drawing, a Martin Sharp exhibition, and one on Chinese printmaking, as well as the permanent collection.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you all so please come - even if the weather isn't great! And don't worry if you can't stay for long - please come anyway - its a great opportunity to meet some other Christians in the art field.

If you have any questions or are unsure on the day which of the options will be happening then give me a ring on 0414 874 948.

See you there!

-Sarah
