Small Group and Cell Groups

The concept of what an Aussie cell group would be like is still evolving and we pray that God would help us discover how to implement this important aspect of small group ministry. Throughout this year, we will be seeking to meet with people involved in successful Aussie cell groups to harness the principles and methodology that would work for indigenous Australia. There are many types of cell group churches in Asia and America but we believe that Australia with its unique blend and culture needs to come up with its own biblical concept of cell groups. We pray that God would bring the right people to teach and impart this to the church.

Care Group

We have a vision for everyone to be part of a care group. However, some of you value your privacy and are happy just to attend church. We respect that and will help you maintain your privacy and anonymity. For those of you interested in a Care Group, you may be interested to know what it involves.

WHAT IS A CARE GROUP?

A Care Group is a small group of Christians who do the following:

Pray for all the members of the Group everyday.

Contact at least one member of the Group everyday by phone or other means.

Have a gathering once in a while as a group (for coffee/tea, picnics, BBQ, shows, functions, Bible study, etc.). Gathering can be as frequent or infrequent as the group desires.

HOW ARE THEY FORMED?

We will contact each person who fills in a form or sends e-mail, and give a proposed list of those whom they can easily fellowship and relate to.

There may be some initial migration between Care Groups as each person takes time to find the right group of people they can relate to.

Care Groups are not static and will be updated yearly to cater for transfers and additions within each group as individuals continue to find the right group that meet their growing and changing needs.

Friday Prayer Meetings

This year is an important one to gather intercessors throughout Canberra for spiritual mapping. Friday prayer meetings will consist of sharing by various intercessors on what God has shown them in strategies and spiritual mapping followed by prayer drives throughout Canberra with anointing and communion sharing at various sites simultaneously. This will close with a final gathering for the evening to pray and thank God for what is done in the spiritual realm. If this is done continually and constantly throughout the year 2001, we believe that it would usher in a breakthrough for every church in Canberra. In Steve Penny’s prophecy (about 9 years ago) for Canberra, 10 years (till June 2002) was ordained for Canberra to either turn to the light or darkness. We need to pray saturation prayers in the spiritual mapping of Canberra to ensure a turning to the light of God in the year 2001.

From March, Friday prayer meetings will be rotational among various participating churches in spiritual mapping. An itinerary will be prepared and available at a later date. This coming Friday, let’s join the revival prayer at Nation’s heart.

GATHERING OF INTERCESSORS

THE SITUATION

The world we live in is both a spiritual world and a natural world simultaneously. There are spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places and rulers of the darkness of this age (Eph. 6:12; 1 Cor. 2:6-8). These spiritual demons divide their rule amongst themselves by areas, regions and even nations (Dan. 10:13; Eph. 6:12).

THE PLAN

The continual and persistent saturation of Canberra with prayer, especially targeting the different demonic powers over various regions of Canberra by walking through those regions (Gen. 13:17; Jos. 1:3), by standing and taking authority within those regions (Eph. 6:10-18), by raising our hands in prayer and praise over those regions (Ex. 17:8-16) and by causing those very regions to become places of holiness (Jos. 5:13-15). Continual and persistent prayer is to be offered to God in those places (Acts 12:5-10; Jam. 5:17-18).

Teams of intercessors will gather together in one place and then prayer drive throughout Canberra to take spiritual authority within each region. After that they will gather back again to give thanks to God at the end of the sessions.

THE RESULTS

We expect the demolishing and tearing down of demonic strongholds and demonic princes expelled from Canberra (Ps. 149:6-9). With the spiritual darkness in high places removed, we expect an open heaven over Canberra and revival (Acts 10:11,44; 1 Cor. 16:8,9; Acts 19:11,12,20).
