"Cristo Para Todos - Para Todo El", "Christ for All - All for Him"
Next year, the Centre of the Alliance World will move South, all the way to Chile. Since 1975, representatives from many nations meet every 4 years. No other event so clearly demonstrates how God allowed the Christian and Missionary Alliance to be a vehicle for His Spirit. Churches were born in many countries and today they form an International Network for His Kingdom.
The impact of God's work cannot be overlooked in Latin America. But only in 1983, an AWF International Assembly was held on that continent, in Lima, Peru. It is time to go back and see what God has done during the past 25 years!
Mark the dates: April 8-12, 2008. You will get to listen to renowned Latin preacher Salvador Deluttri. Teaching will be given on Islam by Dr. Daniel Shayesteh, who grew up in Iran. Devotional times will be led by our African brother, Dr. Mabiala Kenzo. More information will soon be made available on our website.
Phenomenal Church Growth in the Philippines
Alliance Churches in the Philippines are targeting high; they aim at having 3,000 churches by 2010, which means that they need an average annual growth of 132 new churches. Inclusive membership is supposed to be 500,000, from 300,000 in 2006. Is this kind of planning not a sign of unrealistic faith? But today I received mail from church president, Reniel Nebab, stating: "I just want to share with you that in 2006 we added 190 new congregations all throughout the Philippines. Praise the Lord. To God be the Glory!" What is 'unrealistic faith' when you know about the power of God? Nothing is impossible with Him! Together with the planting of churches transformational ministries are set up.
2,426 'Reached' Languages
The number of languages into which at least one complete book of the Bible has been translated reached 2,426 at the end of 2006 (UBS 2006 Scripture Language Report).
Amazing ALMA
All over the world families are under attack. But just as Jesus targeted the weakest in His days on earth, He blesses family ministries in our days. One of them is the Alliance Marriage Encounter, which started in 1992 in Chile and was transplanted to many other countries. Last weekend 34 couples went through the program in Bangkok, Thailand. Concurrently a Chilean team of seven couples, led by Francisco and Sonia Rivera, and David and Lou Ann Woerner, held an ALMA-weekend in a North African country. Praise God for the fruit He gives on this ministry!
