New Life Campground

The New Life Campground puts 10% of the profits from this facility towards the Merriwa College Project at Dodoma in Tanzania, Africa.

Our aim for this year is to help with school supplies, text books and the financial operation of the school.

The New Life Campground is situated in secluded bushland 8 kms from Gilgandra on the Mendooran Road, 70 kms from Dubbo and 95 kms from Coonabarabran. The New Life Campground is being offered for hire to church groups, schools, and any other group willing to abide by the conditions of hire.

To get there, go through Gilgandra on the Coonabarabran Road over the bridge and turn right (1 km) off the Coonabarabran Road onto the Mendooran Road. Proceed past the cemetery, over the next rise (2 km) and the campground is situated on the right hand side just before crossing Deep Creek.

Local attractions include the observatory and display, Australia Collection, Cactus World, Flora Reserve. Day trips may be made to Wellington Caves, Dubbo Zoo, Siding Springs Observatory and the Warrumbungles (approx 1 hour travelling time).

The Campground is available for day hire for such events as family reunions, training seminars etc.

FACILITIES

Accommodation- Three dormitories with bunk beds are available, sleeping a total of 70 people. There are eighteen (18) powered caravan sites and grassed area for tents. More mattresses (80) are available for youth who wish to use the auditorium for additional accommodation.

Kitchen- Fully equipped kitchen which has been used to cater for groups of two hundred (200) people.

Dining Room- Seats about one hundred (100) people and can double up as a meeting hall for smaller groups.

Auditorium- Seats about two hundred (200) people, with piano, organ and overhead projector.

Showers-Gas hot water showers and toilet block located in a separate building

Canteen- A canteen is available at camps if required. It is equipped with cold storage facilities and shelved areas. This area is available as a booking office.
