Reconciliation

The very word
demands an understanding of a prior
fact and state of being, that is, “The Conciliation”,
once prevailing or in what maybe easier to understand the
‘state of ABSOLUTE PERFECTION’. (Cosmos = Perfect
Order).
Perfection of
being and communion.
The conciliation
between God and creation, or created beings.
Somehow, such
perfect state was ‘violated’. A foreign element
caused chaos (disorder). Such element caused friction in
and to the whole economy of God with disastrous result.
Of course, there
is light thrown on the cause. We hear God speaking to a
created being in these words:-
“Thou wast
perfect in all thy ways until pride (High Mindedness = iniquity)
was found in thee”.
The word
‘iniquity’ has many expressions:- “pride, high
minded, treason, evil, rebellion, disruptive,
truce-breaking”.
To be reconciled
to ‘A Holy God’, there must be a pure conscience.
A conscience not
only free from the acts and power of sin, but from the guilt of
sin. This then is the greatness of :- The Salvation in
Jesus Christ, The Lord.
It is not
enough to be forgiven our sins. The memory of them must be
erased, else there will always be guilt of them and
reconciliation is impossible.
For reconciliation
to consist there must be purity of conscience. This purity
of conscience being the issue of The Shed Blood of God in Christ
upon the cross, the revelation of His Passion.
It is only when
purity of conscience is experimental that reconciliation is known
to be accomplished. As far as man is concerned, this is the
whole purpose of The Crucifixion, Death and Resurrection of The
sinless Son:- The Christ of God.
But the redemption
of man is not the only and lone purpose.
The whole purpose
of The Cross of Christ and the shedding of His Blood is for the
reconciliation of ‘all things’. “Things of
Heaven and of Earth..”(Col. 1:20)
This is far too
great a study for our present meditations for this embraces
‘all of creation - beings and things’ (Humanity,
Angelic, Animal and Element).
There is a
verse:- 1 John 1:7 ( Which is in reality an anthem, as such
it demands to be sung.)
“But if we
walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one
with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us
from all sin”.
(ALL OF
SIN). All the effect of sin!
Here we have
RECONCILIATION absolute.
This is an anthem
of such immensity, herein we have the whole issue of ‘the
passion’.
(It’s music
will ring out through Eternity!)
We are almost too terrified to offer transliteration, lest we offend the sublime. Here is communion with The Throne - within The Throne.
What has made
all of this possible? We read in 2 Cor. 5:19:-
“God was in Christ reconciling the world unto
Himself...”
Now, we must
understand the Scripture - “Where sin did abound, Grace did
much more abound”.
For, God in Christ
reconciling the world unto Himself means that God has taken upon
Himself the responsibility and accountability for sin.
This then, is Good
News.
The revelations of ‘Holy Writ’ are made simple that the babe in Christ may understand and not be left in a state of confusion.
ISAIAH 14:
12-15 and EZEKIAL 28:14-17.
In these verses we
see the seed /cause of sin as the destructive virus (which
it is) and with this knowledge settled, one may enter into the
rest of God and in the sure knowledge of The Reconciliation
accomplished by God in Christ.
We know from whence sin came, we know where it has gone and we know that it can never be again.
We hear clearly
the words:- ‘IT IS FINISHED’ and with joy enter
into the anthem of the redeemed
Glorious Jesus,
Lord and Christ.
WE ARE RECONCILED!
